Well i dunno if winRAR can read registry, but google gave me , whih can.
Usage simple. just create a zip file, or use existing one.
Tehen select create .exe from the shell menu. Set the path to a registery key., some samples provided, so you can see how to do it.
It has pretty much option. I think im going to try it for a while, see if its better compression

sweet thanks. I'll check it out. I was using FreeExtractor Wizard which is basically a free version of WinZip Self Extractor. It has all the same options, but sadly neither can read the registry. I also found Install Creator which is the professional way to make an installation program, but every time I used it, AVG said the exe I made was a virus.

I'll try that program. It sounds like exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks. That is indeed exactly what I was looking for. The only trival complaint, is that it supports .7z for compressing/extracting, but not for exe. A .zip is need to make an exe. Oh well. Thanks again.
