Most probably the diff in size comes from the compression DICE used i think. winRFA isnt able to use compression whilst building them, but it can read. I thought the BF debugger was avle to handle compression, thought i saw it on the site u gave me:

they use it to build maps (which you do) but i thought it can do others as well

it could be the stuff in the template files.. the fact that objecttemplates.create works using tacoman's method is baffling to say the least... i'd suggest go back to the old rule of not being allowed to add object spawners (remember the client has no TDM info concerning spawners)

but dont fret cuz all wouldn't be lost... remember u can use Trev's team method to add vehicles using the carrier vehicle spawners or other object spawners, and you can use the methods explained in the tut's to add some soldier spawners. so rem out everything but "run soldierspawns.con" and "run objectspawns.con", and put your ad-hoc soldier spawn info in soldierspawns.con, and your "stolen" object spawners in objectspawns.con.

The problem is not in the code layout because it all works fine as is if I run conquest. So I think it must have something to do with the way I setup the TDM.

EDIT: Another note is that I did not create any new spawners... I only borrowed unused ones.

hmm... you copied over too much stuff. tacoman's method only works if you ONLY copy over objectspawntemplates.con and objectspawns.con.

remove everything else and try it with just those two files (your .inc files dont matter).

no that doesn't work... server loads but no control points show up so can only spawn on carrier. Only difference with client is that it no longer gets a CTD, it just gets a "Disconcted From Server" message. Hmmm.

then i'll go back to my original theory... it's the object spawners... like i said, the fact it works for Ctf is a miracle in and of itself (it shouldn't work but it does.. as far as i know, noone here has figured out why)... it must not work for TDM. try not copying the objectspawntemplates.con and see what that does... that should confirm it one way or the other.
