Sound has nothing to do with lightwaves or any form of photons or "pure energy". Obviously they are mere vibrations and "shockwaves" rippling through a medium mass, e.g. air (actually an almost perfect soundwave transporter) or water (not that great). You wouldn't find any electric power in sound, at least not immediatly. It's only the specific distortion of the medium mass that is registered by our ears (actually amazin little organs, they are

), which amplify it in the auditory passage until they hit the tympanic membrane, which is supersensitive to these vibrations and passes them along to the actual audiosensitive organs in your inner ear by changing the inner ear pressure in the "vacuum" behind the tympanic membrane (much like a regular drum).
