hey you guys. sorry about my double topic ing. but i've recently installed DC and played it for it for the first time ever. well since i think it's awesome i'm making a weird custom map for it. it's an objective game type with bots. for a sniper. here's the idea:lol.jpg the blue sniper that's up on the ridge shoots down at the "target" in a lada whose in a group of vehicles. the "target" is really the objective that needs to be destroyed and will just look like an Iraqi (but with a custom skin). and then if the "target" makes it to the other end of the map/road they capture a control point that would make the allies (sniper) lose. now here's the thing. i need the vehicles to be moving at a realistic speed so that the target is snipable. and i need them to stay on the road and not just go in a straight line as a rocket engine would make them. so i thought the if we actually had bots driving the vehicles that it would work plus they'd be able to capture the control point at the end of the road. but I can't have the bots shooting back at sniper. at least not untill he gets a shot off. but i think that may be impossible =( so is anyone here good with ai that would be willing to help? is my idea possible? will my drawing skillz ever improve (sorry...)? will Fox ever go democrat? why the hell don't i stop talking right now?

To stop the bots from shooting at all remove the templates for the kits.
Use Battlefield Singleplayer Creator to make the map support bots.
Use PhotoShop or Botinator to do some hand editing on the Pathfindings.
When you go to do the pathfindings level the road and put out of bounds any place you don't want the bots to go.
Edit the speed of the car to slow it down if you want.

Lone Wolf is right about the kits. The next thing to do would be to rem the .50 cal from the back of the technicals to give you more variety in the cars. You'll also need to add spawn points to the vehicles and nowhere else so that the bots spawn in the cars and trucks, and have enough trucks to cover the size game you want, no left over bots. Theres not going to be any easy way to get them to drive along the road properly, but if you spend enough time with the out-of-bounds and the path-maps, you should be able to get the bots to follow direct paths as if it were scripted. I did a similar thing in an Omaha map of mine. I was working off some actual hand-drawn maps and on them was highlighted the area at which the landing craft would get stuck by a sand bar and the troops would have to wade the rest of the 40 yards to the beach. To get the bots to swim and attack like the soldiers did in the battle I spent a lot of time editing Path-maps to get the bots to follow direct routes, and even swim.
