I guess you do that if you want it work reliably in multiplayer (seeing that armer effects don't always work in multplayer). But still...it won't work for this purpose if it uses spawners.

I tried that once, but the PCOs I tried didn't stick to the soldier.

Try adding a firearm with a dummy projectile that uses a PCO. You can even use other soldiers as dummy projectiles, so no reason why you can't do this with PCOs.

Just make sure to use a key binding that won't work so that the weapon with the dummy projectile PCO is never fired.


...Probably won't be server side, but might work as a CSM mod.

So you mean attaching a weapon that should fire a PCO, but never does?

Why was it that radar never worked on soldiers properly? Was that because of the height difference not existing? Meaning: it works for planes since they are so high up? Couldn't we addtemplate the radar but place it like 500 meters above the soldier?

Well, I tried adding radar to a soldier, but even as CSM I never got it to work. It seems radar only works on PCOs, and soldiers are technically not a PCO. (they're a "BFSoldier" object)
