In order to "go into bfrm" didn't you have to ALT+TAB? Upon doing so, you minimized your game and therefore the screen capture would fail. The game has to be open and visible the instant the command is sent through, or else the game does not reply to the PBSS request.

Play BF in windowed mode and everything should work fine.

If that doesn't work he may be running the game in a different compatability mode other than Windows XP, its been proven that doing so blocks PB screenshots for some reason.
