I can get individual videos to play during map load (and make a unique video for each map), but probably not audio. The videos don't play without minor studders during loading, so adding audio to them is a bad idea as the audio will get very choppy because of this. The game just wasn't optimized to play videos while loading maps, but it can be done.

Map specific music doesn't work as far as I can tell. (again, you can add music to videos and load them as load screens, but it will sound like crap)

i beg to differ, the sound worked better than the video when i tried, so a "recording" of a picture with sound till should work fine.

would the p2p route not require modding the main bf exe?

wow guys i'm really confused here. Can someone sumerize for me and can someone please tell me directly how to do it as the method i suggested does not work. At least when I tried.

Also does the file need to be BIK?

Yes bf only reads .bik for music and videos in menus, and only .wav for ingame sounds. Google bik converter and download the RAD Video Tools. I'm not sure how to make map by map music, but that will allow you to make an .mp3 (or pretty much any other sound file) into a .bik .
