i set it up to just run with what you had done...that is, copied the sound scripts from dc machine guns and put them on the Browning 50 cal and MG42. Its just the sound files, no scripts or objects.

Alright I put the _003 file in my archives folder I'm going to try it now.
EDIT: EPIC_FAIL... The bunker mounted brownings sound like vanilla, and the vehicle mounted (turret, m3a1, and coaxial) are silent...MG42s are unchanged.

Arg. What is your sound setting? 44khz, or 22khz...or...dare i even say it...11khz??

All you have to do is open the sound script file and make sure you have all the files being used. If you're copying the sound script files, all the easier.

Is this for a map or minimod??

My sound is 44khz, and its CSM...I put the sound_003.rfa in my archives folder, as I assumed I was supposed to do, and joined my server. Silent vehicle browning, mg42 unchanged. I was under the impression you could use sounds like skins, replacing the ones you wanted and having it show up on any server you played.

You can, but you must have got the file names wrong. You have to look into the SSC files them selves and check to make sure you got the right sound files. DC's sounds may have different filenames then what '42 uses.

Ummm...huh? I made sure I had the right .ssc files for the browning. I'm not sure if I changed the MG42's, come to think of it.

He's talking about the file names IN the soundscripts. Open them up and look.
