lolz you were right los and ice. I just looked at that and thought that it might be a hint that the pathway was incorrect.

When i remmed out the setserverinfoicon that removed the bfv icon but had no change on the issue. Which is that the mod still requires manual activation as though you were playing it in single player mode.

i have a memory of some like game.setmod "modname" something something but i cant find it again

I did not use the mod creator to create the mod. I have some fundamental questions about that wizzard and since the MDT tutorials no longer work - it seems some critical knowledge has been lost there.

I created a copy of bfv and renamed it. Yes that is the name of the mod.

After experiencing these issues I went back to see if i could use the mod wizzard and it does not create any .rfa files (which is up to me becuase im creating the mod) but it only creates the pathway and init.con file. I will add my archives etc. and maps to the tree and see if that works. It would be nice to understand in a small mod, how much reliance the mod has on the root BFV files and which ones i need to add in separately. For example, i looked at the lexicon.dat file using the editor and like wth. How would i go about creating that for my small mod? Do I need it for my mod or do i delete it because its only for the BFV (i know and others like PoE) files.

It seems that it would be extremely useful if someone had a tutorial or set of tutorials that walked you through from start to end on how to create a mod with your own music, movies (i know both these) menus (dont know about that) menu graphics archives files, what needs to be adjusted in the game.rfa file. Right now its pretty much figuring it out by trial and error.
