So i placed a 20m ladder and connected a crate to the top and droped another 20m ladder onto the top of the crate. It worked, although I cannot rest on the crate - soldier jumps straight into the next ladder.

Next ladder was to climb to the top of a radio tower. I could not replicate what i did with the crate. Tried a bunch of times. Finally I added a sitting bench to the top of a 20m ladder and I could climb that and stand on the bench. However, now I cant climb the next 10 foot ladder and get into the radio tower. Does the radio tower model obscure the ladder?

Any code examples of joining ladders etc. would be appreciated.

Im going to try this tonight, i remember i tried 6 months ago and it didnt work.

Is it possible to use the static objects already provided in the vanilla maps and move them around in a map?

So for example, if i wanted to have a quad spawned in a radio tower and needed a ladder to climb the tower, could i use an existing ladder on the map, take it from the original position and put it on the tower so players could see the ladder?

Would this be as simple as going into staticobjects.con and changing the position and rotation of the existing ladder?

Static object are clientside!

If you move a staic object ssm then the object will appear clientside but they will be able to walk through it. They couldn't climb up the ladder but they would see it... and somewhere else they would walk up an invisible ladder. If you're wanting a new ladder you might as well spawn a new one and just have it invisible.

I removed some sandbags ssm and put an invisible ramp for cars to jump a river on market garden. So they client would walk up into the air and float on an invisible 'ramp'.

Oh visiting back with multiple boats you can rem out the spawners on the gato and sub7c and spawn 100 of them if you want. You just have to walk a pier to get into that sub. I thought about making a ctf map take place on a full water map with just an island on each end. Subs for each side and a couple of ships. Would be interesting 'cause its always fun to take flags down into the water with a sub.

I was working some something like this for Battle of Britain but they made the water so shallow only destroyers work. Battleships and subs do not have enough depth in the water.

Bonez,

I can spawn new staticobjects - they invisible.

Can you share your code on moving existing spawns server side - you said you moved sand bags.

A spawner can be used to spawn a static object - but im looking to move the existing static object.

Im assuming the reason it cant be done is becuase only spawner objects can be adjusted and show up client side.
