Anybody know if Bf1942's Engine supports Normal Map textureS?

I figured it might possibly support these as it could draw a direction of light from the Sun. But i dont see any Normal Maps within the game. Just wondering if there is the possibility that its Shader files could be Written to Produce lighting effects and depth using Normal Maps.

Certainly Bf1942's .RS files are rather simple, but is there more to these Shader Files than we know about. Ima keep tryin to find out if its a possibility but perhaps some of your know.

Well, the material Battlefield RS certainly supports normal maps, go ahead and try it out.

I believe this was just not implemented in the game itself, probably due to resource problems.

From what i know and what i ve seen in 3ds mAX, it shouldn't be a problem to set it up.

However, one has to try, and see what it looks like in game.

My main problem here is that i cant type in the normal map stuff, but seeing as how my system recovery has gotten rid of my 3ds Max, i cannot use the ATI Normal Mapper to get the Normal map set, instead ive been forced to use Gmax and the Nvidia Normal Map tools which are basically useless. Even if the Nvidia Normal Maps are working there is no real noticable effect.

I got better looking wrinkles out of raising the contrast of the actual Texture itself. Though I would really like to make Normal Maps for some of the models, especially the character. It is rather hard without 3ds Max anymore. And fighting with gmax to make a high res model of one of the BF characters is useless because the ATI Normal Mapper dont even support gmax files, Ima export to Plasma 3d or MD3 hopefully it supports one of those. Ima keep trying, thanx for your response.
