The damn thing still crashes to desktop after selecting a map.
I wanted to basically use it to get positions but geesh....

You probably need to reinstall 1942.

Keep backups! lol. back up the entire folder if you have to.

Uninstall BF1942
Install BF1942
(Make a backup copy of BF1942)

this crap is becoming tedious and more and more a waste of time...

The main thing is that the computer I am installing bf to does not have a cd rom, so I have to install from disk images. Which becomes even more of a pain.

reinstall no good, fucking thing still crashes to desktop like a little bitch.

Says...
requires GL_ARB_texture extension
requires GL_EXT_texture extension
requires WGL_EXT_swap control
BC failed to initialize some open GL extensions

so wtf now?

All I truly want is to get positions in the damn maps...
