When the server fps drops, does it lag when you connect to it and play?

i could probably chunk it about 5 peoples worth iced , but that wouldnt do much good, and no freddy, no one lags when connecting, however as we play and the frame rate dips, it does lag some then as the frames go back up its all good. again, its the SERVER, which runs just about every map, modded or not, fine with as many as 12 pingers (people) connected to it. i sit beside the SERVER and can watch the FPS. just wished i knew more about how the SERVER interacts with the video settings, i keep thinking since it isnt actually renderring video, the SERVER that is, it may just be something in the code of the maps? like i said, i can run all the way up to DCFX and only have this problem with one or two maps. thanks yall, ill keep snooping.....

you could always try to persuade your friends (players) to get faster computers

So if i get this right the server reports the average fps for the players connected?

the dedicated SERVER interface window, black screen white text, doesnt report on individual FPS, it's simply showing the FPS for the SERVER, two parts to a SERVER, one, (Server Manager), is where you can set up the game, choose the maps, etc., the other, (Dedicated Server interface window), black screen white text, shows things like the IP, port, GPM, Mod, Players, round, on the left side, and FPS, Map, Tickets, punkbuster, OS, SK, util%, on the top right, below all that, long strings of text, and people who connect/disconnect. i havent found a place anywhere to adjust for FPS, or any video settings for that matter, specifically for the SERVER.

p.s., im sorry if i'm beatin a dead horse yall....

correct me if im wrong, but i think it goes:

Average FPS: x
where x is the average fps for connected clients

and somewhere below that
something like CPU Load (%): y
where y is your (the server's) CPU loading

sounds logical if you ask me

this is what i mean, if you can read it, not too good at uploading pictures, the left side at the top it says FPS, not of individual players, but the SERVER itself, and im darned if i can find anything resembeling video settings for the SERVER itself????
