well, familiarize urself with the basics of 3d Modeling, understand what materials are, what a UVW map is ,STUDY the very very basics.
Only then will u be able to understand what is meant when a uvw map is exported into a graphics program like Photoshop, with NVidia Plug-In installed, to be able to save as .DDS file, box filtered, auto mip mapped, RGB + explicit Alpha set as in DXT3, once you created ur texture over the exported Template ( u want to know where ur doors and windows are on 3d Model right ?)
Also , not any 3d Model format fits into Battlefield 1942, it needs to be StandardMesh, a .SM file, supported for Autodesk Software with plug-ins that come with MDT.
Damn, i could write a book on this ... U want links ? I dont remember, back then all i did was open the Google Search and typed stuff like... 3d model skinning tut and looked through 10 some pages till i found what i needed. GET BUSY !
Get it straight Catch, there is no easy way in, u have to learn if u want to know.
People spent 6 month to a year figuring these programs out , and still there is much more to learn cuz some of these interfaces look like friggin Airplane Cockpits.
As much as i like to help out... ur just asking for too much at once.
