Well it isnt exactly a SSM, but this seems the best place to post it. Having read the on how to make your name orange interested me, so i attempted to do some searching on my own. It seems the colors are triggered by the |cXXXX string. XXXX can be replaced by any 4 (4, not 3, Brow seems to use a space as the last caracter, but to avoid confusion use something else, like DICE's |c1001) combination of characters and all the text after it will be colored orange, untill you place another |cXXXX string after the text you want to be orange. Maybe someone else will ahve more luck than me, but it seems orange is the only color that will be created. It'd be nice if other colors would be available too.
Also, before you place this stuff in your nick, be aware this will not work in the BFHQ, the commandline and your name that floats above vehicles. If youd like to see how dice did it, you can
a) look in the command line for previous colored text, the |cXXXX code appears there
b) look in the .utxt files that are in the Localization folder (most commonly English.utxt, autorun file doesnt seem to have this stuff)

So if your clan tag is something with |c you kind of have a problem

But unlimited (or seemingly) could get a name like that:

|C1234Punkbuster
|CxxxxPunkbuster
|CiyjfPunkbuster

And 4-letter/number combo after the |C will not be visible, so there are many possible accounts here.

is EA aware of this? Cause that seems like a big security hole and possilbly a backdoor in the right(or wrong?) hands. People should be able to pose as Punkbuster. That needs to be fixed.

Hmmm thats true. I hope half the internet is aware of this, and will kick players for having the term "punkbuster" in their names. I dunno if such a script is available, but it must be easy to create.

In return I would like to offer up what I am going to do and share it with you.
It comes from the old BF1942 days. In the psvb.cfg file located in the PB folder add these lines.

// Badname List - pb_sv_badname [grace_period_secs] [disallowed text]
pb_sv_badname 120 WWW.
pb_sv_badname 120 .COM
pb_sv_badname 120 .NET
pb_sv_badname 120 punkbust

No one can enter with even part of the name.
Sorry I have a thing for people advertising on my server that I rent.
Also usefull if you dont want a particular clan in your server.
