I have recently finished a conversion of the BF2 map "Golf of Oman". This map was converted from PoE of BFVietnam. I converted that map to BF1942 DesertCombat. It took me roughly 4 days total to finish this. I did not convert this from BF2. Someone else converted it to BFV, and I simply did the work of converting it to BF1942.

i was wondering how big that would be...101 meg seems right for all the custom objects. :shock:

Its around 40MB when compressed to RAR format. Once extracted, it does indeed take up to a 100MB. :twisted:

Sadly I could not get singleplayer working. The game crashes while loading when attempting to start singleplayer. (as a result, I could not even get working pathmaps either).

Perhaps a few of the statics need AI Meshes, but I don't know which ones at the moment. (since the game crashes in a way that can't be debugged. Aka, windows error report dialog type crash)

If someone here can get singleplayer working, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have the ability to "compress" the rfa files when packing them. (not to be confused with compressing them to RAR format). However this breaks the loading screen and any other TGA format images. I can pack the RFAs in compressed format, once I figure out how to do it without breaking TGA support.

tb, i downloaded your map, put it in my rig, then the game server to test, and really like it, would you mind if i put it on my webpage for our members to d\l? and would you mind if i kept it on my server? (i put it on just to test, me only, but i will take it off if you wish, its a really nice map) been having issues with my server showing up on the main console, but you can still use all alpha by typing in: ez1st.kicks-ass.net. the numeric IP is: 71.72.201.103, default port...really nice job dewd... ;-)
