It was a Pilonidal Cyst, an infectous hole inside me that sent me to the hospital. The infection had started an absess, a pimple like bubble, but much larger, on my tailbone, and It had been nestled inside me for over a year. The surgery lasted an hour and a half, and when we were chatting with the surgeon after the surgery, he told us nothing. A few weeks later, a few agonizing weeks of daily dressing changes 2 or 3 times a day, consisting of removing and packing the wound with gauze and filling it with saline. From the Percocet which did nothing for the pain, to the Valium which made me freak out, and break into an uncontrolled sweat, I have toiled through these past few weeks. One of the nurses, a Linda, brought over my surgical records the other day, and told us what was in them. Within their pages was the doctors writing stating: Something along the lines of "I would've said one maybe two months more and the absess would've popped, draining massive amounts of ecoli into his system, and in turn, killing him" It was nice to know that he thought i was so close to death and yet forgot to mention it to us. During these last few weeks, its almost been infected, its turned white towels to red, and twice ive come close to going back to the hospital. 2 Weeks Down 6 Weeks to go |
