Why does Road to Rome only install 99% and SW only install 93% ?

I try and try to join a Bf1942 server, but once i hit enter to join, it exits to the desktop....it was working just fine a few weeks back. |

make sure there's nothing extra in your levels folder. an extra folder, or weird files in there will cause it not to even load. |

ur computer got the space(heheh)? umm, i have NEVER had this problem, are the disks scratched at all, cause this can cause the problem, and you will probly have to re-buy or get fixed prefessionally scratch repaired if u even can |

Just rebuy the expansion packs? I think they dont work cuz im a horrible modder and im too lazy to make backup files and stuff...

why woud tat be, if ur installing of a disk or DVD, then it shoould be fine, cause u can't mod a CD version can you? no i didn't think so

The crashing to the desktop can be caused by a number on things: First check your mods Init.con folder so for instance in: Battlefield 1942/Mods/bf1942 Look for the Init.con file and make sure no text like this: game.addModPath is in the file except for game.addModPath Mods/bf1942 This adds a new Mod path and while attempting to play on servers it can cause crashing and or "Data Differs From Server" If you've used Battlecraft lately, make sure that in the same Init.con file that the lines added for Battlecrafts Lightmapping get deleted I forgot exactly what they were but it will say "Lines were added by Battlecraft for Lightmapping" or something like that, Believe they are at the bottom of the file. Make sure there is no files that are not supposed to be there in the Archives folder. ONLY RFAS should be in this folder, if an RFA got corrupted and is in there, Delete it, if you accidently overwrote an original file I suggest reinstalling. OVERWRITING IS BAD. Check each RFA to make sure its format is correct, Incorrect folder format of the rfas will cause crashing. IE: Objects/Handweapons <---Good Handweapons/Objects <----Bad Check your levels folder, No extra folders, no extra maps, no extras RFAs like Objects Texture Standardmesh in the levels folder of your mod, will cause crashing. Make sure you go to settings and look for VideoDefault.con and make sure "renderer.allowallrefreshrates" is checked to 1 so your graphics card works with the game, as well as your monitor. Thats all i can think of at the moment, hiped up on medication. As far as installing goes and stopping, either means Full Harddrive, dirty or scratched disks, or that your disks are corrupted and are totally useless. I suggest uninstalling some other programs first, testing, if doesnt work then, buy a new set of expansion packs. If you can find them. |
