The point here is that we don't know everything, everybody can find out new things just by messing around with the code themselves. Sure, there is a website that lists most (nearly all) of the properties and gives information about them, but that never means everything. I mean, Losnar recently found out a way to have a 1 in 50 chance of firing a colt projectile by using tracer round commands, which then makes a weapon less predictable as to how much damage it will do. Was that listed anywhere? No. Was the tracer round ever used like that before? I've never seen it. Clearly this is a new innovation, yet the game has been out for 5 years and modding has been around for over three. Playing with things was how this whole server-side modding thing started. Not all the answers are already written. (See, I just thought about that tracer round thing, and then combining that with a projectile that spawns an object. Wouldn't it be interesting that as you fire a minigun every so often a humvee just popped out? Hah, that would be funny. But I bet there would be more practical solutions. And yes this is going off topic....) |
