"Server admins", This is the right place for that line I think!!!!!!! A Question if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Can I run my server "On Line" (WAN) and join that same server (Game) through my Locale Area Network (LAN). Obviously the reason would be for those of us without alot of band width it would go a long way in reducing LAAAG for other players. So what do you think boys and girl, any ideas??????? Is this doable? Grrrumpy |

yes its doable.. i've run a serer on my box here behind my router and i've had my bro connect from the wan to test out server side mods. you just gotta forward the right ports on your routers. |

Grumpy, at a command prompt on the server (while your server & manager is running), enter the command `netstat -an`. this will show you all the listening ports. Rcon- TCP 192.168.1.2:4711 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING Bfsm- TCP 192.168.1.2:14667 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING bf1942- UDP 192.168.1.2:14567 *:* ase- UDP 192.168.1.2:14690 *:* gs- UDP 192.168.1.2:23000 *:* |

Is this possible aswell with a rented server perchance? Would you just need to change the ip for the shortcut eg "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\BF1942.exe" +restart 1 +joinServer 83.142.52.120:14567 ? As a friend and his brother only have one copy of the game and it would be class if they could both join through a lan way where 1 copy lets you use it twice on a lan |
