I searched the forums and didn't find anything pertaining to my question. When you are creating El_Alamein_001.rfa for example, as explained in the prepping your files section you are suppose to delete all the folders except the conquest folder. Are there any other files that are not needed? I was talking to a fellow modder and he said that the ControlPointTemplates.con Coop.con PreCache.con StaticObjects.con and some of the things in those files are not changeable and will cause the map not to load and then be 'skipped'. Any thoughts on this? If most of these files are duplicates why do they need to load again. Could we infact be reducing lag by not making the file reload unneeded info. Here is a list of files above the conquest folder. Files in red already out El_Alamein_Day2 folder WaterShader.rs texturePreCatche.dat tdm.con StaticObjects.con PreCache.con Materialmap.raw loadcounter.dat Heightmap.raw cullRadius.con Coop.con Conquest.con Conquest folder spawnPointManagerSettings.con SoldierSpawnTemplates.con SoldierSpawns.con ObjectSpawnTemplates.con ObjectSpawns.con ControlPointTemplates.con ControlPoints.con I am thinking if it's it a .con file and you dont change it.........it can be deleted............yes.........no? I think we have some experimenting to do. |

Ok I did a some experimenting and was able to delete all of the files except the ones I modded. El_Alamein_Day2 folder WaterShader.rs______________________can be deleted texturePreCatche.dat _________________can be deleted tdm.con ____________________________can be deleted StaticObjects.con_____________________can be deleted PreCache.con________________________can be deleted Materialmap.raw______________________can be deleted loadcounter.dat_______________________can be deleted Heightmap.raw_______________________can be deleted cullRadius.con________________________can be deleted Coop.con____________________________can be deleted Conquest.con Conquest folder spawnPointManagerSettings.con__________can be deleted SoldierSpawnTemplates.con_____________can be deleted SoldierSpawns.con_____________________modded ObjectSpawnTemplates.con______________modded ObjectSpawns.con_____________________modded ControlPointTemplates.con_______________can be deleted ControlPoints.con______________________can be deleted So you can do it. Whether or not it reduces lag, I have no idea, Will check it out tonight. |

The client does not see it. A player will disappear into the clients heightmap, I think it will cause the client to crash. If the client doesnt crash, he is an invisible assailant. I never played with it since I don't want the general public to join a Hacker server. I only play with what the clients will be able to see and figure out for themselves. I mod for a clean, general public server. Dead Meat. |
