First off, I want to say "Hi" and tell you that this is quite an intelligent and talented group. I would have never been able to get going on server-side mods without the SSM How-To and this forum. Things that would've taken me probably months to figure out (like the anti-camp death bubbles, which I absolutely love) have only taken me a few hours to get the hang of it and took off from there. Thanks for that! Now, here's my question (I did my best searching the forums, but the best I found was "disable it using yadda yadda yadda): I want to take the spec ops weapons kit, take out the C4 altogether and replace it with grenades. I only want to do this on CTF versions of maps (which I'm sure isn't a problem) to enforce a server rule we have about not using C4 to protect the flag. I'm open to any number of suggestions, but the ultimate goal is to *at least* disallow C4 usage within a 10-15 meter radius around the flag. My idea was to try and swap the expack for grenades, but I'm not entirely sure if I can do that server-side, or if it would even work without crashing the server or clients. Any ideas are welcome here. Thanks! |

All of your weapons can be found in the level init.con. However it is used for all versions of play. So if you change the handweapons in one....you do it to them all. You may be able to set active per map, not sure though s-s. As far as changing one piece of a kit... you will have to do that in the Archives/Objects/Items/........ folders for each kit. Be aware that only certain items can go into a slot on the menu bar. your best bet is to just change the kit to one without C4 in t the level init.con |

you cant do this serverside, ive tried it to death, its one of the most important things on my list of things to get working but it just cant be done, if you change the weapon in a kit the graphics for the client either stay what they normally would be or if you are adding weapons to a kit (such as the aa kit which has 2 slots open) it will give you a very strange animation client side, you can still use it but it spazzes out... there is only one strange exception, you can add the AP landmine to a kit aslong as it doesnt replace anything... but the icon willnot showup on that kit, (but the ap landmine is a total piece of crap anyway) dont ask me why you can put that in, ive no friggin clue.... i supposed i shoulda looked into why a bit more than i did but w.e i was getting very pissed when i noticed it |

the next best thing is to replace the kit entirely, subsitute it for another ak47 kit for example. This has been done on lostvilage_no_para if i remember correctly. |

I just remembered: use the specops3 kit, it has grenades instead of c4 last i checked |

AT3 has nades instead of C4 as well. |
