good lord dude... that's not a good idea... try going for like 3k polys I believe. |

3k for a simple gun is still pretty much I think...but most computers won't have any problems with that nowadays, I guess. Just filter edges and faces until things are good. Remember smoothing edges can do wonders for round stuff such as barrels and reduces poly load a lot. |

basically DON'T use meshsmooth for anything other than organic models and even then only on rare occasions. just use the normal 'smooth' modifier or directly use the smooth subdivision from the editable poly menu. |
