I just joined a DC Final server I never played on before, and within 2 minutes I was kicked. I got this message:  Yes, I do have a DC_Battle_of_73_Easting_705.rfa in my levels folder, and it just has a line in the init.con that points to a folder outside the .rfa with textures. Here's the thing I don't get, for one, the map was DC_Basrah_Nights, and I've never had this happen before. |

that server must have some sort of custom MD5 Tool, but either way, why did you add a texture set in the init.con? Why not just make a texture_001.rfa and overwrite the old textures, its far easier. |

Either way, using an MD5Tool a server is able to kick a client with any modified files at all. It can check for the existance of too many texture/object/etc files and kick those that are using them. The same holds true for using some additional includes's to include a different folder. This is because of the usefulness of this as a hack. (ExxxxVision, anybody?) |

haha, pwnt. Yeah, we stream to PBBans/PsB, and I know you can tell one of 'em to check / kick for MD5 mismatches. And yes, xxxxxvision hack for the loss. Hahahaha, remember when someone got banned for having a VXF skin? viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4397 Why in Gods name you'd want vehicles to be blue with white lightning bolts...I don't know. |
