I searched & I googled........nothing. Apparently .db files can be opened different ways depending on who created the file. In this case EA Games. I am wanting to edit the soldiers In-Game Menu images (Assault, Sniper Anti-Tank, Medic, Engineer) in Battlefield 1942 Any idea's Thanks, JH |

Hey Jimi! I believe the icons/pics you want to edit are in menu.rfa, packed as .dds files... I believe there is a DDS plugin for photoshop, but I just use the DDS Converter 2.0, found here: http://eliteforce2.filefront.com/file/D ... er%3B29412 You can convert them to tga, bmp, PSD (photoshop extension)...and a bunch more. Very nice little program. ![]() |

I also use DDS converter 2 to save space on my harddrive by converting all of my screenshots from .bmp to .jpg! |

Here's something that has always, always bugged me when making kits. When you AddWeaponIcon, you have the name, for example, JapMG.tga is what you have to put for the Mp18. Why don't you put .dds, since it is a .dds file? |

Simply because it doesn't matter really. BF42 has two main formats for images: TGA and DDS. DDS are mainly used for all textures that require alpha channels, while TGA can be used pretty much anywhere, anytime, but they don't support alpha. It's just another one of BF's weird and unexplainable irks ![]() |
