think about what that would mean, if the server had to send everyone all the dds files, can you say LAG x 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000? (for those of you who are curious how big that is its 1.0 x 10 to the 78th power) |

IRT Tacoman If the client already has a specified texture that's been activated by the client's engine (whether it's a BF42, DC, DC-F or map-specific), wouldn't it not lag since the server doesn't have to upload anything? Then again it's not possible, but just throwing stuff out. |

Maybe with the BF engine but when Quake was run big you could download a map off the server and caused no lag for people in game. |

thats cause the maps were only a few megs instead of 20 or 30 and the servers would upload really slow |
