Hi everyone, I want to make an installer for my map, Carrier Encounter.

I've tried many times and have succeeded in making a basic installer, but One thing I want to do is have my sound file from the map install into a different directory then the map itself,

Anyone know a Program that will allow you to do that?

The free Clickteam installer will let you install things to different directories. But you can make new things map-side so why?

I use "Inno" for some months now, an open source install compiler, to make a convenient installer with multiple options for distributing my mod. It allows to deinstall "old" files before installation, temp unpacking, optional setup features like "Desktop Shortcut?" which is possible by reading out the registry for the BF42 path.

The compiler uses a VERY easy script language and you have all the liberties you want.

But I don't think an installer for a map is necessary. Everyone knows or can know how to unrar a single file...

I hate installers as they always leave traces behind. I just want a rar file or just plain raw .rfa

Hm, Inno setup includes a simple uninstaller, which allow a complete deletion of all files added. That's the pro of open source stuff, it usually avoids including the annoying stuff of payware
