ok.. so last night i just randomly decided to make a one man hovercraft vehicle. I wanted it to fly just above the ground with dust under the propeller things. also it has two machine guns on each side which you can fire via left/right click. however i'm a bit confused about a few things and I know a few of you here have experience in the physics of the game.HoverCraft.jpg as you can see in the picture the pink propellers are what i need to have spinning when the vehicle is moving. I currently have the hoverdraft as an air vehicle. i'm stumped though about how to be able to make this thing stay only upright. but still use plane controls. i'm not sure if i can make this thing stay parallel to the ground and that's where i need help. I have no idea how to set up the engines for it. if anyone could point me in the right direction (i'm not asking for an entire physics file for it) that would be great. another thing is I don't see how to set the propellers spinning. any help on that would be insanely appreciated. i've gotten the guns worked out but still don't know what to do about the engines. possibly I should make it a car engine but with invisible wheels and just have the prop's as rotational bundles along side it? not sure... |

look at planes, look at DC choppers. If you want to make it really stable, I think making those two props/fans 'dummy' engines (they move but give no power output), and make some invisible engines farther out from the player is the way to go. |

Look at DC LCAC. I think it's coded as a land vehicle though. But it is a hovercraft. |

You'd be better of designing it as a Jeep, the wheels would just be replaced with the propellers as the dummies, but the actual wheels of the object would be invisible. |

Yup, everything that needs to relate to terrain and ground features ist best handled with wheels. If you want to add specific characteristics like a "jump" for the hovercraft (thinking of Banshee in UT3) you would need to get creative with the code ![]() |

I think a plane engine propeller is just an effect, not really what drives it so check them. |
