I was wondering if anyone new how to add music to a map. This goes for Bf1942 as i've played on servers that load different music. Is this possible? = I want to add the Led Zeppelin song (Immigrant Song) as the loading song on my map. Is this possible? If anyone knows how can they tell me? |

I feel like an idiot. oh wait i am one. ![]() One thing If i put the song file into a folder in teh map then changed the loading music code to include this song. Would this work? And does this have to be a BIK file or can it be mp3? |

Oh, then yes you should be able to. But I don't think it can be done in a single map. It would require a "mod" of a sort to be loaded and then the "menu loading music" for that mod would be changed. |

Hmmm....kinda got my wheels turning on this one. BF42 doesn't show P2P but it must transfer the reading of modded files somewhere for clients to load server specified mods wich brings me to plugins, are there any and if not, why? I run a trackmania server on wich i use a php server and a mysql database to force load mods for tracks and run local race records as well as port music into the tracks via a jukebox panel. The Method uses P2P to do all of this so this brings me back to my original question as to how modded server files are read by client?....there has to be a open port somewhere to utilize to develope a mysql plugin database to be read by clients to maybe even grab the music from a remote source like i have set up on my trackmania server via locator files embedded in the plugins. Maybe i'm dreaming here but if there is an open connection between server and client in theory this could be possible. Maybe even a patch (mini mod) to open a P2P? Hmmm....the possabilities could be never ending, Automatic map downloads to joining clients. (no more map not founds) Any coders ever try this? if not anyone want to help dig into it a bit deeper? |

Uhhmm, maybe I misunderstood... but Battlefield doesn't have anything like that. The way people play client-side mods is by going to a site and downloading the maps/mods and then installing them. Sadly there's not an automated system built into the game for it like Call of Duty has... that'd be nice though ![]() |
