I remember a thread a while back, about importing vehicles from Road to Rome and Secret Weapons as an SSM and that it worked. I searched and couldn't find it, does anyone know what I'm talking about or know where this thread is? |

well that would be impossible unless the client has RtR/SW, and then its not really a ssm. |

I would think it would only work if the client modified the init.con file of the mod that would be loading the xpack stuff so that the client would know what mod server was telling it to load objects from. Otherwise if the client didn't do the change to the init.con file, then it would be the same as the client not having the xpacks as they are only loaded if the mod's init.con file tells it to load it. And I don't think a server can tell a client to load something it hasn't prepared for during initial game launch as I think the game will only load stuff from other mods when the mod is listed in the main mod's init.con file, which I believe can't be changed SSM. But if the client does change the init.con file to load it, then the SSM would be no different then adding BF'42 vehicles on a DC map Server Side. There's plenty of SSMs that have BF1942 stuff on DC maps....So of coarse it will work IF the mod's init.con file is set up to do so on the client side! |

Yeah, the only way to do it would be running a RTR or SW server and then play a 1942 map |

lol yes, this all assumes the client actually has the expansion packs! |

Don't bite my head off! I know there was a thread about this before, I remember seeing it. And yes I know how to do what you're describing, I didn't think that would work. It had something to do with calling them with the os.con, since that file is always read first and completely by clients when loading a map, this makes simple custom objects possible sometimes (jetpack for example). While a vehicle certainly isn't simple, I do think this was done somehow. |

Can you describe where to find the "os.con" file? (or did you mean OST.con?). I always thought that was a abbreviated form of ObjectSpawnTemplates.con file that is loaded from a map's game mode folder. I wasn't aware that this is the very first thing the game engine loads? I thought the game loads the init.con file of the map first then everything else. |
