I started talking about this in another thread, and I decided to make a new one so maybe more people could help. I abandoned what I was doing there (replacing P38 with DCF M9) in favor of using the BG42 (BattleGroup42) P08 Luger. I copied and renamed the animations, and textures, but there is a problem. When I get to the standardmesh files, for the P08 there are these: P08_Fus.sm P08_Han.sm P08_Mag.sm P08_Trigger.sm For the P38 there are these: Walter_Base_M1.sm Walter_Hane_M1.sm Walter_Mantel_M1.sm Walter_Trigger_M1.sm What I don't understand, is which of the P08 files do I rename for the P38? Editing the P38 geometry file (As Archimonde said) is out of the question, last time I tried that it crashed my game once a map loaded. So...I'm stuck and confused. |

In your case rename the P08 meshes to the names of the Walter, then overwrite the walters standardmesh files, pack it up and try it out |

I know...but which ones? The trigger is the only obvious one. The other ones I'd have to guess....And that could turn out badly. ![]() |

Ok, well I'd love to open them in Gmax but it always says "Unable to open file" whenever I try opening anything from bf1942. And yes I have the MDT plugin installed. |

ok i'll tell you what. i'll look at the meshes and tell you what they each are. however i'd like you to learn how to do this yourself to! just extract the standardmesh.rfa somewhere and if you have the gmax plugins installed just open them up and from the toolkit go up to the bf tools tab in the top right corner. then select model import. then click import and navigate to your extracted standardmesh and open up one of the .sm files for viewing/editing. hope this helps ![]() |

Ok, thanks. I just think my computer it incapable of handling them. I can open gmax and whatnot but then if I try to open or make anything I got kaput cause my computer sucks. BF1942 and BFV are the only good games this computer can handle I feel so disprivileged. (64mb graphics card WTF ON A STICK!!!) |

it will work. if you try opening .sm files using the normal file>import it wont work. try what I said. my computer runs it fine and I can't even open bc because of my sucky graphics card. or even install bf2 for that matter. here's what's in the p08 file. i'm sure you don't need to see the trigger. i'll get the other gun up in like 5 mins EDITok i'm having trouble getting the p38 picture uploaded. so i'll just tell you. the base is the base. basically the what the fus is for the p08. the mantel is the piece fitted on the back that you pull back to cock the gun. and the hane is just the piece on the back of the gun that is near your thumb and sticks out. hope this helps po8.jpg |
