I was all happy; almost done with my map, and decided to send it to a friend for testing. Problem is...he crashes to desktop after loading it. The weird thing is I can play it fine on both of my computers. I hate 1942 sometimes. :(

I think this map has been corrupted for some time, if thats the case...I uploaded it weeks ago in another thread about texture issues, and archimonde couldn't open it either.

What can fail in a map? Heightmap, materialmap, some other essential files? I have no idea what it could be.

Usually it's hightmap that cause problem.

I was afraid of that... Oh hell. The map is 2 large islands, with several small ones inbetween (think battle of britain, but with islands in the middle).

There's no way around it, other than making the heightmap from scratch, is there? :mad:

I have a aberdeen map for bfv that has a corrupt heightmap, copy/recreate what ever I do doesn't work.
Wanna try to fix it, go ahead. tell me where to drop it.
I ripped out everything and still no go.
