i dont know if this is the right place to put this but i was wondering if anyone knew how an rfa file works, i wanted to make a program to open rfa files |

i wanted to make somethin a lil different when i use winrfa i have to open notepad because i cant make that lil textbox bigger, it doesnt have a table layout so i made a lil program for con files but i want my program to b able to open the rfa also |

Col's RFA Explorer had to reverse engineer the RFA file format to get it to work. Basically, it's not easy to figure out how exactly one extracts a RFA file back into normal con files. Especially a compressed one. Honestly I would have written one of my own ages ago if it was that simple. Something like WinRFA, but with syntax highlighting, code completion, etc. Kinda like a normal programming language IDE. Of course, this is back when I used to mod a lot, so it would have been worth the effort. Now.... not so much. But yeah, reading a RFA file is totally EA proprietary. There is no library that you can "import" to allow it to be decoded simply. |
