I would like to come to a conclusion on how Springs work.

Is there any way to rotate Springs (directly or indirectly through attaching it to a bundle and rotate it) and make them damp collision in other directions then Y-direction?

I sense that Springs strength and damping are always computed in Y-direction.

Real example:
Is there a way to put wheels on the willy that are rotated 90 degrees in Z-direction. Wheels that face the same direction as the regular wheels but would roll if you were driving close to a wall.

So, you want wheels that make the jeep go sideways? That doesn't sound SS....
