Hey guys, over the past few months I've been putting some extra time, here and there, into a custom infantry map.

I went and got rid of the ground texture (it was not a fresh start, but had berlin as a foundation) a couple weeks ago, so it appears purple. Today I painted a dry dirt/grass texture on it just so I could see what I was doing better. I decided to generate surface maps instead. It goes about 4 bars into the process and crashes. When I re-opened the map, it appeared some of it had taken effect. My worry is that I'll go merrily along (almost finished), add some objects, control points and soldier spawns, go to generate shadows or other final touches and it will go to crap.

Has anyone encountered this error before? If anyone is really curious I can send you the map to take a look. Or...do you think I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Any advice is appreciated as always...

Update or downgrade editor.
And hope you don't got a intel videocard.

BTW, did you find the folder shadow works with textures in, shadows and ground.
Those you can open in photoshop and edit there and then merge them in BF editor.

LOL no, no intel videocard. I've made a full map in the past and didn't have this problem. Hopefully I'm making more out of this than it really is. My only fear was that I would get done with the map, go to do the final steps (terrain, shadows etc), and it crashes.

Yeah..found the folder. Out of desperation I replaced it with a backup file I had but it made no difference.

I'll keep working on the map. If it DOES give me trouble when I get to those steps I'll reply again.

pardon me for this but:

DONT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GENERATE ALL THE BLOCKS OF A SURFACE MAP EVER ALL AT ONCE.

Dont do it..JUST DONt BC Crashes.

Generate a Max of like 4 blocks at a time. Dont do all 16 32 or 64 blocks.

DO IT IN PIECES

It's a small map, only four (maybe nine) squares total. I'll give this a shot though...I'm sure its quite possible its the problem..
