sorry for bad english !! is there any way to change the texture of axis grenades serverside in bf1942? i want to change the texture to becks bottle  , only for optical (without explosion effect)or doesn´t work that ssm ...? greez conmark ps: a test *granade_ax_o.dds* (not a final version) is already created |

this will not work graphics are controlled client side your texures or dds file can only be used in a client side mod or a custom map |

Custom textures will never work serverside, sorry. |

from what ive learned here, theres basically two parts to playing the game online, the SERVER, and the CLIENT, k? when someone, ie. CLIENT, connects to a SERVER, things in their computer\game, (ie. maps\levels), HAVE to match what the SERVER has, like round and square pegs and round and square holes, round pegs(CLIENT with different game files) wont fit in square holes(SERVER with different game files). hence, when you attempt to connect to a server with different game files you get "data differs", or "map not found". if the server contains a lot of "custom" stuff, then people who want to play on it will have to download the maps\levels. trust me, if you take your time, use SEARCH in here, READ, youll be a lot better off. folks in here are good at what they do, search and read.......then ask. edit:^ |
