Hey guys, not SSM...but I'm sure someone here knows. I'm making a pacific map and am having trouble with some "jungle_tree"-s. They look fine up close, but from a distance they have a screen around them, and from an even farther distance they look like big black buildings. Example...: ![]() Egads! ![]() A tree in the background has this effect... ![]() Much Better. I don't have much experience with this and was hoping someone would know. Thanks for any help! |

It has to do with the LOD/Level of Distance, different models at different distances to reduce lag since you can't see details in far-away things. As far as how to fix it, no clue! But it might be a map compilation error or the way you are adding them in. Again, no idea though. |

Maybe you could increase the distance in which it displays these LOD meshes. I think its in the objects.rfa folder but i could be wrong. Its in either the jungle_tree's objects.rfa folder or .rs file which is located in standardmesh.rfa and can be opened with wordpad/notepad/msword/whatever. |

thanks freddy for the idea, that might work. ![]() mr. vengeance, i remembered the .rs file(s) but I forgot where they were. I looked in objects.rfa last night, so I'm sure they're in standardmesh. I'll give that a try. |

I believe Urglub found that some LOD changes are visual server side, but you should ask him about it. |
