Okay right now my internet is doing horrible like it almost always does....high speed my ass. I should sue my provider...anyways i think its suppose to be at 3 to 3.5 mbps, how many people could come into my dedicated 1942 server without lagging to bad...ive gotten 12 b4 with no lag...but now my internet is 1.2 mbps and slower a lot of the times....(SUE) so how many could 3.5 mbps hold and 1 mbps hold? Thanks. |

What is your upload? That is a big part of it. I have a 15mbps download and 3mbps upload. I've never tried hosting on BF games, but I've held around 10-12 on HL2 Garry's Mod, which would be a very good number for that game. So I would assume 10 or so, although it also depends on upload speed. |

depends a lot of what map is running and whats happening on that map at one time. for example if it´s lots of explosions and stuff with many players involved at the same spot it takes more bandwidth as the server has to report more to each player. minimum seems to be about 2.5 kb down and 2 kb up/player, when i checked. not any exact science tho.  i had as many as 18 players without lag on a 8/0.8 line. |
