| Post subject: | DC final modding help |
here is the problem i mad a new mod for battlefield called DC_Final so i could edite my dc final maps but when i go into the game it crashes loading other servers including my own and on hte list of maps some of the levels are replaced by DC final lvls so i am unable to use some of the maps.is there a way i can do this so i can use battlecraft to mod without my game crashing and being able to use all of my arigenal maps? help please

ok first of all SLOWW down you going to fast and second of all did you backup your maps you edited cuz if you didnt i think it will give you errors |

well it makes my maps for battlefield 1942 crash not so much my DC_final maps and i did have backs ups i just wanna know if theres a way to do this without crashing battlefield 1942 maps |

thats all i did was make one caleld "DC_Final" and i could mod the dc final maps but when i tryed to play battlefield 1942 i could not play the maps and when i went to make a server it had the dc final maps covering some of the maps and i was on battlefield 1942 not dc final i even replaced the battlefield 1942 icon with a new one and went to the game from that but it still did not work |

Congratulations, u did use Battlecraft and tried to screw with an existing mod. Try reinstalling ur Mods, the copy them into another folder to edit in. Then u have to edit the maps .con files back to DC_Final Specs and paste the level in your game folders for it to work, but this will disable online gaming. As posted in other threads, u can use Battlecraft to find positions in game and use the positionsetting for a serverside mod but not the map itself. |

yes but when i tried to load the maps 2 battlecraft from a different folder it sas "an instalation of battlefield was not found here" so im not sher how i can do that(i am a bad speller) |

well, instalation of Battlecraft already ruined ur game for pur servers, so try this. rename the existing folder in EA Games to Battlefield 1943 uninstall Bf1942 and Battlecraft re install Bf1942 u now have a unregistered install of Battlefield 1942 named 1943  find a folder to ur liking well away from ur Battlefield 1942 new install , copy the BF1943 Folder and all subfolders to that folder, and rename it back to Battlefield 1942, now install Battlecraft and set the install to the "unregistered" path and mod away when done pack ur odded maps or cons to a 00x file and paste them into ur "new" install directory to test them. If i missed anything feel free to add to this post. |
