Just starting modding using Battlecraft. I ran into my first issue. I'm sure they will be more. I am modding an existing map for BF1942 - Omaha. I loaded the map into battlecraft, made the changes( change tanks, mounted guns etc.. not much modding). I get through that and then save the rfa file. After I save it, I use rfa explorer to delete all the content except for the conquest folder and its contents. I then save the file as omaha_beach_001. Its about 905 kb. I then also add back the original omaha file which is about 11 megs to the level folder. I run the map on a local lan game (just me)and it plays fine.. no issues at all. when I upload it to our server it does not work. the file is all lower case because I know linux hates upper case letters. the map switches fine using black bag ops. But when people try to load in.... it crashes??? it loads 1/2 way then crashes any help would be great |

Make a patchfile using WinRFA.exe And for gods sake, give it a higher number then 001. You have a 003 already as it is. First it reads 000 then 001 then 003 and so on. If you make changes in middle they will be overwritten. 1. Read on forum how to make a patchfile. 2. where to ad changes. 3. This forum has been here for a while now, don't think your the first that have question about things. 4. . 5. some more. 6. even more. 7. a tiny bit more. 8. Don't use BC42 to mod with, use WinRFA 9. Use BC42 to get coords only. 10. Never ad or remove a ObjectSpawnerTemplate. 11. again. 12. Read what you actually found about that problem you ed for. 13. once again. When you think you got a new question, ask. But for it first anyway. |
