First off this is client side, new mod, new map. Ok so i am trying to make the medic lockers look better, ive got a few standardmeshes and all that but i am encountering one problem. I can't get the 4 parts of my medic box to all go together. My box mesh has 4 seperate parts to it which means 4 seperate files but i am having trouble getting all four parts to show up on the ingame object. It only shows the main part. So my question is does anyone know how to get an object to have more than one standardmesh file attached to it? OR does anyone know how to merge files in 3d studio max? Thanks |

four meshes , with four different textures ? For a medic locker i suggest u put all 4 meshes in one scene. rename all 4 materials, then attach, leaving material Ids in place. out comes a standard mesh that calls from 4 different texture files , depending how u mapped them. I use 3dsmax for stuff like that, need moe detail info ? |

Well, i tried that and it says that you can't have more than 1 mesh selected when you export your standardmesh in 3ds max. |

using 3dsMax7 ... what u need to do is : Select ur Main Mesh (the one that carries the name, e.g. LOD1 and blah ...) Right Click Pull Down, select Attach now point and click to ur next mesh popup asks for material adjustments, leave as is , click ok repeat this with ur next 2 meshes. ( U said it was 4 ?) Now, when u select the Mesh , all parts should light up as one. be as one Open Rendering Menue , select Material Editor, in there u should have 1 Main (Multiple/Sub-Object) and 4 Submaterials (Battlefield RS), if not ... Select in the Rendering Pull Down, PICK FROM OBJECT Once u got the Materials as 4 subs, u can adjust each materail , e.g. 2sided, transparent , texture path etc. This may not export completely, but saves time editing the RS files in Standard Mesh Folder. Before u export, unwrap UWV to check ur Mapping, in the UWV Pop up, u can display each individual Material for reference ( bottom of window, LIST MATERIAL ID or something) I have to play with 3ds agin to tell u exactly what these buttons are called ... lol |

Grr! I downloaded the newest 3dsmax trial, and of course the MDT "install 3dsmax tools" link doesn't work, well that is to say it doesn't recognize the program as being installed so it gives a warning message and closes. Any ideas? ![]() |
