I'm almost certain it wouldn't.

My server runs some maps that are over 40Mb with no problems.
However, after a few days, the server becomes a little slower than usual so I simply reboot it and all is running fast & fine.

The size of a map doesn't have much to do with a server crashing.

In most cases, the cause of a server crash is due to a bad file, not enough available resources or too many tasks running on the server machine.

Are you running a dedicated server ?

Are you using 'Black Bag Opps' server manager ?

I have been running game servers for many years and have learned a few techniques to keep them running at high performance.

Let us know a few more details about your server machine specifications and we can advise you with more tips.

Good luck 8-)

1 Dell \ 1066/1333FSB Dual Xeon \ PowerEdge 1950
2 Intel \ 2.0 GHz 1333FSB - Woodcrest \ Xeon 5130 (Dual Core)
4 Generic \ 512 MB \ DDR2 533 FB DIMM
1 Dell \ 9G Drive Controller - SAS/SATA \ SAS 5/i
1 Western Digital \ 250GB:SATA2:7200RPM \ WD2500JS

Only 50% of one of the 4 processors is used when we have around 40 people in the server so I don't think that's the problem hmm.. It's a pretty sweet rig

We did upgrade to the 2.01 version of the BFSM maybe that's the problem anyone know of this problem with that version?

i had problems with 2.01. the ingame admins dont work if you have special symbols in your name. im not sure about server crashes, but i do know that if both teams have the exact same kits it makes servers crash at random times.

as vengance said 2.01 for your server isnt that great, the server tends to crash more then it did in 2.0 and the ingame admin doesnt work with symbols using the alt numpad comand i.e »«▓µìæ√╙ all of thoes type things and as for your map that is very small in size, el. alamien is 42 MB alone, so i wouldent worry about map size on a server that mutch

if you want to change back to 2.0 you just ask the BFRSM ppl you are buying the server from to change it back. at least thats what worked for us.
