Ok. I have exactly NO experience modding or coding. I'm wondering if there are any good tutorials to get me started from scratch. I have no idea what I'm doing, but want to mod some DC Final maps. A book would be great too, so I can refer to it while working. Here are some of the things I want to start with: 1. I need to move one oppo spawn in DC Final, lost village, CTF; it frequently spawnkills. Or maybe there's another solution? Anyone have experience (or a fix) with this? 2. I need a way to kill helos. (You know. The ones that swoop in and steal the flag and fly away while the pilot talks smack in teamspeak) Sometimes our teams are pretty small and we don't have enough defense. Mines would be great, but do not work on helos for some reason. (?!)They blow up when a helo slides over them, but do no damage. Can I change that? C4 works on helos. If somehow the damage from C4 can be created by mines, it should solve the problem. 3. I'd like to place some kind of circle on the ground, around a CTF flag. (damn flag C4ers!). Better yet, I'd like to make the area within the circle prevent (whomevers flag it is) C4 from working, thereby blocking C4ing the flag. Is this possible? I've been looking all over the web for info, and I have some, but this site looks the best. I'd appreciate help other modders can give, and would also appreciate not getting unhelpful replies as well. Thanks, from a complete and utter newbie. |

First off, the best tool for editing the RFA (map) files using code would be this one: 1. There is a topic here about changing that spawn: . Look for the post made by "tanfhltu". 2. Not too sure, somebody else might be able to help. 3. You can not change graphics server-side, so adding a white circle would not appear. General tutorials can be found on the menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen. |
