Post subject: | Moving an existing static object server side. Possible? |
I want to add a defgun near the runway on vanilly BF42 to deter tanks from caming the runway. I had the thought of moving the radar tower or some other bunker to serve as a base and then add the gun to it. When I changed the staticobjects.con file and changed the position of the radar tower, it didn't seem to change its location although physically it was in its new position, just invisible. Can the position of a static object be changed in a server side mod? Can anyone suggest another method of adding a defgun to the runway server side? Thanks |

You cant move anything in staticobjects.con. So you can spawn a defgun there, but it will have no bunker/tower thing underneath it. You also cant move anything that is already there, nor can you add anything. Well, technically you can, but the client wont see it. So they wont see any defgun bunker, and they will still see it in it's old location. You didnt tell us what map, but you could try placing it on top of the hangar, and then seting the entry radius to something where you could still "get in" from the ground. |

Still, you cant move a static object, add one, or remove one. The client will still see it if you remove it, and they wont see it if you add it. They will still run into it. |
