I'm just not getting the "Build RFA" button. I editied the RFA to test adding an apache. tested the map and no good. Came back and looks like the file reverted to original. I am assumign this build RFA step is critical. But I am not seeing the build button. Maybe I am missing someone thiat is obvious but I just can't figure it out |

You need to use the server version of the files for the best results. Download it off of EA's website for free. Are you using RFAExplorer? That has no build RFA if you are not extracting it, just click Save and it will..save! ![]() |

2kills, I am not going to use it for a dedicated server. I just want to do it for a lan with about 10 guys. I will be hosting the game off my computer. And yes that would explain the lack of the BUILD RFA button. Is that my only option to download the server files or something? Any idea what i've been doing wrong because I made the change and clicked save but nothing happens. -are the DC_Final levels the one i'm supposed to be editing? Or should I be editing the .7 or something |

If you read the files that come with Col. Krunchie's RFA Explorer, then you would see that you make a change, then click the little floppy disk icon to save the page. Once a change is made and saved, the Build RFA button becomes available. To create a patch rather than a whole new version of the same RFA, delete all the files except the one you will be changing. The games engine will use the default RFA for the map in question and use the new _001.rfa for the minor change(s) you (have) made. This yeilds compressed files of under 6 K for most of my SSM patches. My major works all fall less than 7 K so far. An original RFA is averaged at around 30MB. Huge difference. Try my Aberdeen map or Midway. They are located in the "Maps You've Modded"section of this forum. Just drop them into the servers DC_Final levels folder, right alongside the original Mods .rfa. |
