Pink, I think you're trying to hit a home run with your first gun model...what you should be trying for is a base hit methinks.

Instead of all those polygons, try something like this ('model' in transparent red):


Then just make all the "curves" and crap as part of the skin. As you're working on this model I'm sure you'll learn some things you could use on future models to make them better...but this should be a good place to start.

you fail iced. so maybe on side looks alright. but looking at the thing from the top would look bad...

ahh I see. I thought you meant the model to be an actual box.

That gun is best made by box modeling, and the addition of a single cylinder or two for the barrel, and other rod like objects.
