Yes my AP Mines do get credited kills (but it will be a generic "killed" message). But the APMines aren't projectiles any more and use a complex method to get them to work.
I guess EA was too lazy to add the "explodeNearSoldiers" code to BF42. Was easier for them to just disable it. In BFV they did add, so in BFV you can have proper AP Mines. Just not in BF42 on account of Dev lazyness....
Also, DICE was the company working on BF42 back then. Not EA. EA bought DICE (and then preceded to ruin the BF franchise) sometime during or after BFV was made. Then it just does down hill from there. BF2 was the last respectable BF game EA has made thus far.
