are you modding an original map? ed42 doesn't like some of the bf42 maps textures.. Stick with battlecrap if you are not sure what you are doing. |

lol. I never got the undo function to really do anything when doing terrain. Usually if I accidently move the terrain, I just move it back....But I guess you could use BC instead if you know how to use it. I have no clue how to really use BattleCraft beyond that of generating objectlightmaps, so I always use ED42 for my map editing. Never really had any major problems with it. |

BC is my fav tool for mapping. It owns Editor42 hands down IMO, because you never get these kind of dumb errors with BC. Ed42's development was half-assed I'm sure, that's why it's so crappy to use (notice it has like twice as less features as BC). Dunno why I bothered with it... |

Yeah I'll admit Ed42 does some nice texturing, but it's the only good thing it does. The rest... BC all the way |

ED42 rocks texture&material editing, BC42 is a tad better in object placements. But actually both have their advances, Ed42 is especially VERY useful when you edit a mod or use modded objects or any of that stuff. And even more if the mod is WIP and you make many changes during time. And counting crash probability I don't think both programs are that good...there are some things you should do carefully or avoid at all in both progs, but besides of that they both are pretty fine. |
