If you want to connect with your Buddy alone

Use Hamachi

Hamachi creates a LAN network between two computers, allowing players to join eachothers private servers. Both of you sign onto a Hamachi Server, one of you Start a game, the other use the Add Server Button, and join. Its how me and my friends do it testing Single Player and Co-Op Mods

The Servers IP will be set to the Hamachi IP of the Host. Next to their name will be a 5.xx.xx.xx.xxx Number copy this and put it in the as the IP when you click the Add Server button, dont worry bout the Port Hamachi doesnt work with ports. And VIOLA you are connected.

Minor Lag depending on distance.

what kind of router? running behind them without the proper ports open will not allow; 1)people to join, 2)for it to show up on gamespy and the splash screen, or main console. as far as it showing up once all the proper ports are open, sometimes that can take a coupla hours to a week or so, been there, done that. for the now, just "add server" by typin in the IP, click join, NOT OK, join, shouldnt be a prob, if you caint join that way, its a port issue, holler at me, i had to open over 7 or so ports, but that includes our venny, be on x sometime today, holler!!!

Gameserver don't show up and people are still able to join it, but some can't?

okay hes plugged directly to modem ther is no router but i dunno if i should tell him to reinstall

If he's right into the modem, make sure he has NO firewalls on the computer. If he's in a router you will have to forward ports.

like i said he has firewall off and also made sure he had the bf1942 on the accepted programs for the firewall just in case and also is in the modem directly
