Well the best thing about ED42 is that it doesn't screw your RFA files over. It doesn't touch the game at all. It's the *safest* way of doing it. (as long as you make backups of coarse) I mostly got CTD problems when trying to use BC for map editing a while back. So I just stopped using it. I do use Notepad when I can, I only use ED42 now a days to get object coordinates or if I make a map from scratch. (yes you can do that with ED42, as long as you know how to build the con files!)

But I guess it just boils down to personal preference.

Personal preference and simply the depth you dive into all this.

If you are modding and mapping simultaneously for whatever reasons, Ed42 is perfect due to its' file management. If I only would map, I'd use both for their advantages, texturing in Ed, then packing it up and doing object placements in BC.

@Freddy: Did that, but I didn't want to decrease it too much, as it's a map based on SRTM data of the Lake Geneva region, including the mountain ranges south of it .
